Assistant Director Labour caught red-handed taking bribe in Hafizabad

Hafizabad’s Assistant Director of Labour, Moonam Abbas, was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe for the registration of a brick kiln, officials confirmed.
The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Gujranwala launched the operation on the instructions of its Regional Director, leading to the swift arrest.
According to sources, Moonam Abbas had demanded a bribe from a citizen in exchange for processing the kiln’s registration.
Acting on a tip-off, Circle Officer (CO) Hafizabad, in the presence of a magistrate, apprehended the official on the spot. Authorities also recovered marked currency notes from the accused, serving as evidence of the illegal transaction.
Following the arrest, a case has been registered against the accused, and further investigations are underway.
The Anti-Corruption Establishment has reiterated its commitment to rooting out corruption from government institutions and ensuring strict action against those involved in bribery and malpractice.
