Istehkam-e-Pakistan party (IPP) Chairman Jahangir Tareen laid stress on preferring public welfare to personal interests, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.
Addressing a public gathering in Pakpattan, Jahangir Khan Tareen said all the problems can be solved if the rulers, instead of serving the personal interests, go for the public welfare.
He said that the world should know Pakistan as a developed nation, not as a poverty-struck country which is under a huge debt and asking others for more.
He said that if they win the polls, they will uplift Pakistan.
Jahangir Tareen brought relief material of Rs5 million and distributed it among the flood victims.
He said that crops and houses on an 80km belt of Pakpattan were affected by the flood. Everyone should play their part in the restoration of the flood-affected areas and the recovery of the victims.
