The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has issued a show-cause notice to party leader and the newly elected member of the National Assembly, Sher Afzal Marwat, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Saturday.

The notice, citing tension arising from Marwat's recent statement, demands an apology within 48 hours, emphasizing that in case of not providing a satisfactory answer, action will be taken as per party policy.

The situation of tension has arisen due to Sher Afzal Marwat's recent statement.

A day earlier, Marwat claimed that Barrister Gohar Khan was “removed” as the chairman of the former ruling party over “unsatisfactory” performance.

His remarks came a day after Gohar announced that the PTI’s next chairman nominee is Barrister Ali Zafar. The party's internal elections are scheduled to take place on March 3.

Sher Afzal asserted that Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, who was previously the chairman of PTI, was "removed" from his position due to his unsatisfactory performance.

Marwat said Barrister Gohar ‘s performance did not meet expectations. Despite being elected as chairman through intra-party elections, Barrister Gohar did not lead the party effectively, he added.

He asserted that Gauhar's inability to maintain an active party office led to his dismissal, citing unmet expectations and worker dissatisfaction as contributing factors.

Marwat further explained that running a party office requires constant activity, which he believes was lacking during Gohar's tenure.

“Barrister Gauhar was granted a three-month period to demonstrate effective leadership, which ultimately proved unsuccessful. The party expressed disappointment over Gauhar's performance, highlighting unfulfilled promises and a failure to address worker concerns, including protests,” he remarked.
