Selling old and torn clothes to a customer proved costly for an online garments shop as a consumer court in Karachi on Thursday not only fined Rs30,000 to the shop owner but also ordered him to give the customer a new dress, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Consumer Court Karachi East Judge Javed Ali Korejo, on the complaint lodged by a female customer, not only ordered Libas Mahal to pay Rs30,000 in fine but also give a new dress to her for free.
Judicial Magistrate Korejo, on the occasion, remarked that people approached the courts for seeking justice. “Hence, no leniency would be shown towards those dodging their consumers,” he vowed.
The complainant had said in her petition that she had purchased clothes to participate in a cultural event, but due to the fraud by the online garments shop she could not even attend the event.
