Fact finding committee to look into journalist’s disappearance

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday took notice of disappearance of TV reporter Ali Imran Syed.
Later, a fact-finding committee was formed under the Interior Ministry to look into the disappearance of the reporter, who returned home later on Saturday.
Ehsan Sadiq, additional director general of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), will head the fact-finding committee. The additional inspector general of the Special Branch of the Sindh Police, joint director-general of the Intelligence Bureau in Sindh and DIG East Karachi, Sindh Police, would-be members of the committee, which would look into the factors leading to TV reporter’s disappearance and then release.
According to a spokesperson for the Interior Ministry, the committee would ensure close coordination between the provincial and the federal governments. The committee would have an equal number of representatives of the federal and the provincial governments. The input of all stakeholders would be added to the final report in a just and transparent manner.
