Indian flight faces bomb threat, Pak air traffic controllers safely guide the plane

An Indian flight traveling from Ahmedabad, India to London faced an alleged bomb threat on Thursday, prompting swift safety actions by air traffic controllers in India and Pakistan.

Upon receiving the bomb alert, the Indian air traffic control tower contacted Pakistan’s Karachi region air traffic control to assist in handling the situation which was provided immediately to Indian pilot through voice communication. Sources said Pakistan’s air traffic controllers safely guided the Indian plane through Pakistani airspace. After crossing Pakistan, the plane continued its journey into Afghanistan’s airspace.

According to Indian media, more than 90 fake bomb threats have been made against flights operated by multiple Indian airlines this week, sparking fear among passengers and global delays.

The threats, targeting both domestic and international flights, have been relentless, with at least 30 hoax threats made on Saturday and 20 more on Sunday. IndiGo airline confirmed six of its flights were targeted, including four international flights to Saudi Arabia and Turkey. These threats have sparked fear among passengers, caused global delays and resulted in planes being diverted to Canada and Germany, with fighter jets scrambled to escort aircraft in British and Singaporean skies.
