FIA arrests 63 accused involved in Hundi-Hawala business during raids across country

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested 63 suspects involved in currency smuggling and Hawala-Hundi business in 38 raids across the country and registered 39 cases against them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The FIA also completed the investigation into eight inquiries against the suspects involved in the Hawala-Hundi reference.

Domestic and foreign currency, worth more than Rs180 million was recovered from the accused who were held during the operation.

$21,831, foreign currency worth more than Rs53 million, and Pakistani currency worth more than Rs120 million were part of the recovered currency.

The arrested accused were involved in the illegal exchange of currency under the guise of various businesses.

It is to be noted here that the FIA has initiated intelligence-based operations against the accused involved in the illegal Hundi-Hawala business across the country.
