Irked over the accusations levelled against him by the former federal law minister Barrister Farogh Naseem that his ‘partial behavior’ was to blame for delay in the restoration of his licence, Justice Qazi Faez Isa of the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday stepped down as the Lawyers Enrolment Committee chairman, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Isa conveyed his decision to the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) in writing.
It is pertinent to mention here that Barrister Naseem had held the SC judge responsible for delay in the restoration of his license, accusing him of being ‘biased’.
In his letter to the PBC, Justice Isa said that contrary to the allegation levelled by the former law minister, nobody in the enrolment committee had ever brought to his notice his application for the restoration of his license.
The SC judge said hence Barrister Naseem’s allegation was baseless and unfounded. “Truth of the matter is that barrister is not willing to admit his defeat in the presidential reference filed against me,” Justice Isa wrote.
“To cut a long story short, he is a man with a ‘defeated psyche’,” the judge concluded.
