As the rampant inflation tears apart common man’s life, President Dr Arif Alvi maintains a royal lifestyle amid the austerity policy of the government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The president relentlessly uses a convoy of Prado vehicles, modern jammers and an ambulance.
Arif Alvi goes to play golf in the evening and to various restaurants in Islamabad at night with the convoy of these vehicles.
He has also been given police protocol besides the convoy of these vehicles. On the other hand, the implementation of the austerity policy of the prime minister and the federal ministers continues.
Big vehicles and the facility of free fuel had been withdrawn from the ministers. The protocol of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was reduced. The perks of the bureaucracy had also been reduced.
Similarly, Pakistan Army also decided to reduce its expenses under the austerity campaign. Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Major General Ahmed Sharif said that the expenses of the armed forces had been reviewed given the current economic situation, adding that petroleum, ration and non-operational movements were being reduced.
The ISPR DG said that the army chief cut the army budget for the construction and development of Gwadar, adding that various welfare projects had been announced by cutting the army budget.
