The Islamabad High Court has sent a notice to the cabinet division for not entertaining the request of Pakistan Information Commission regarding providing a list of Toshakhana gifts given to country’s presidents and prime ministers since the creation of Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Islamabad High Court sought the report from the cabinet division in this connection within a month.
IHC Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb issued these orders Monday while hearing a petition filed by Abuzar Salman Niazi.
The deputy attorney general told the court that he reckoned that no record was available before 1990. He opined that such information should be available on the websites.
The judge, however, said that may be Toshakana record would be available, ‘if you find the record, submit it to the court’.
