CM Naqvi seeks plan for draining out water from Lahore’s low-lying areas

Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday sought from concerned officials a durable plan for draining out rainwater from low-lying areas of Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chairing a high-level meeting, the CM also ordered expediting work on projects of public welfare.
He also directed that a road and a greenbelt running parallel to it should be of the same height.
He was of the view that the absence of a drainage system on major roads of the city merited concerned authorities’ attention. “Make arrangements for speedy drainage of water from The Mall, Multan Road, Gulberg’s Main Boulevard and other major roads of the provincial capital,” he directed.
The chief minister stressed the need for timely completion of development projects in Lahore and other big cities of Punjab.
On the occasion, a detailed briefing was given on development schemes of the provincial capital.
Punjab Minister for Housing Azfar Ali Nasir, chief secretary, Planning and Development Board chairman, secretaries finance, construction and communication and housing, commissioner Lahore division, LDA and CBD officials attended the meeting.
