CM Maryam Nawaz inaugurates Punjab Socio-Economic Project to compile authentic data of citizens

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Thursday inaugurated the Punjab Socio-Economic Project to compile comprehensive and authentic data of the citizens, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Punjab Socio-Economic Registry Project, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that the people who register in the Socio-Economic Registry will be eligible for other social protection programs including E-Bike, Solar Panel, Hamat Card and Kisan Card.
She said more than five thousand registration centers have been established across the province for the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry. She added that now citizens can register themselves on the portal even sitting at home. You can also refer to Punjab Socio Economic Registry Helpline 02345 - 0800.

The Chief Minister said that the people of Punjab were delivered the Ramadan package at their doorsteps, but when they started the Ramadan Nahbaan program, it was found that the Punjab government did not have authentic data. Individuals also received. When physical verification was done, it was found that people were not residing there as per the data. Punjab has a population of 13 crores, but it is not known how many people fall into which socio-economic category. Ramadan packages were distributed to the public through the data of Nadra and Benazir Income Support Program.
Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb gave a detailed briefing on the importance, necessity and procedure of the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry Project. Senator Pervez Rashid, Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Zahid Bukhari, Finance Minister Mujtab Shujaur Rehman, Provincial Ministers Khawaja Salman. Rafiq, Soheb Ahmad Malik, Ashiq Hussain, Ramesh Singh Arora, Bilal Akbar, Sohail Shaukat Butt, Kazim Pirzada, Special Assistant Zeeshan Malik, Chief Secretary, IG, Chairman P&D, Chairman PITB, Secretaries and others concerned officials were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, CM Punjab said that for the safety of women drivers and riders, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed to link "Women Safety App" with "Careem”.
During a meeting with a delegation of online cab service provider ‘Careem’, led by its General Manager Imran Salim, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif discussed the provision of better transport facilities for people through information technology.
The Chief Minister sought a plan from the authorities concerned to improve the services provider sector. She directed to ensure the use of safety gear for Careem bike riders in all cases.
She said,”we are expanding the scope of free Wi-Fi project after Lahore and Kasur.” She added,”Free Wi-Fi will make it easier for citizens, especially women, to get online transport.”
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said, “Punjab Government will encourage every initiative that leads to generate business activity and employment opportunities for the youth.”
Careem’s General Manager Imran Salim said,”Careem is committed to providing safe, reliable and quality transport services to the people of Punjab.” Senator Pervaiz Rashid and other relevant officers also attended the meeting.
Earlier, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif while chairing a meeting with a delegation of Child Life Foundation, led by its Vice Chairman Muhammad Sohail Taba, said steps were being taken to provide access to the best treatment facilities for every child in Punjab. She also discussed a possibility of introducing second shift in hospitals.
Chief Minister said, “We are committed to saving lives of innocent children and providing them better health services.” She added, “significant positive changes have taken place in the health sector of Punjab.”
Chief Minister Sharif also reviewed measures related to training of medical personnels for the delivery of best health services. She also discussed launch of telemedicine and digital health services related to child health in remote areas.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was briefed by Vice Chairman Child Life Foundation, “159 telemedicine satellite centers have been set up in government hospitals”. He claimed, “thanks to quality emergency care, child deaths have been reduced by 50%, as 24 hours free services are provided in emergency rooms.”
The Child Life Foundation delegation appreciated the vision and services of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif regarding reforms in the health sector, and assured her of their full cooperation and support in this regard. Chief Executive Child Life Foundation Dr. Ahsan Rabbani, Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman and other relevant officers also attended the meeting.
