Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Aamer Farooq on Thursday refused to recuse himself from the new Toshakhana reference filed against former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the hearing of the case, Imran’s lawyer Intazar Hussain Panjutha requested the CJ not to hear the case since a reference had been filed against him the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
Justice Farooq said these were not the grounds on which his recusal from the case could be justified. “This will also encourage others to do the same.”
The court then adjourned the case’s hearing until next week.

PTI founder Imran Khan has moved an application in the Supreme Court against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa.
In the plea submitted to the apex court judges committee on Thursday, Imran Khan said the CJP should not take up cases against him, his family and the PTI.
