Flydubai airline issue new travel guidelines

Dubai-based carrier flydubai on Thursday offered a simple guide for those planning to travel this summer following the relaunch of its schedule from July 7.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, said: “The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the way we travel and we will all have to play our role. This is why we are sharing these simple steps for passengers to follow to enable them to travel safely and hassle-free this summer.”
The guidelines for travel offer passengers confidence in knowing what they need to do to fly once again, whether they are an international visitor, returning resident, a UAE national or a resident, reported Khaleej Times.
From July 7, Dubai is open for visitors and these are the steps that visitors need to complete before travel:
- Check the visa requirements for the UAE, they are the same as they were prior to Covid-19. This includes visa on arrival for the passport holders of 47 countries
- Purchase international travel insurance that includes health coverage
- Complete a health declaration form stating you are free from Covid-19 symptoms and sign a quarantine undertaking form stating you will bear all costs of quarantine and treatment in the event you contract Covid-19
- Take a PCR test ahead of travel. The certificate must show a negative result and should have been issued within 96 hours of arrival.
- If it is not possible to take a PCR test ahead of travel, one can be taken on arrival at Dubai International (DXB). The passenger will need to be in quarantine until they receive their results. If the results are positive they must quarantine for 14 days
Coming home
UAE residents who wish to return home can now do so after completing the following steps before they travel:
- Apply for approval to return to Dubai on the Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) website
- Complete a health declaration form stating you are free from Covid-19 symptoms and sign a quarantine undertaking form stating you will bear all costs of quarantine and treatment in the event you contract Covid-19
- UAE citizens and residents can now travel to any destination that is open for visitors they must also complete these steps:
- Check the IATA Travel Centre website to understand if any restrictions are in place at the destination of travel
- Please remember that you will need to book a return ticket
- Purchase international travel insurance that includes health coverage
- Complete a health declaration form stating you are free from Covid-19 symptoms and sign a quarantine undertaking form stating you will bear all costs of quarantine and treatment in the event you contract Covid-19
Everyone arriving in Dubai
- On arrival at Dubai International and for the duration of the stay in Dubai, they must follow these steps:
- Take a PCR test at Dubai International (unless you are able to present a negative result issued within the last 96 hours)
- Quarantine until the results of the test have been received
- If the results are positive for Covid-19, a 14-day quarantine period must be observed
- Download the Covid-19 - DXB Smart App (from Apple App Store or from Google Play Store) to register with the Dubai Health Authority before leaving the airport. There is free Wi-Fi available at Dubai International
- Comply with all the precautionary Covid-19 measures in place in Dubai, including wearing a mask, observing social distancing and washing your hands regularly.
