Rain brings relief from scorching heat in Lahore

Heavy rain lashed the provincial metropolis Lahore on Saturday inundating low-lying areas of the city but also brought relief from the scorching heat, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In Lahore, heavy rain lashed Green Town, PCSIR, Wapda Town, Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate, Pindi Stop, Barkat Market, Township, Garden Town, Shadman, Mughalpura, Dharampur and Canal Road, Gulberg, Shadman Jail Road, FC College, Garhi Shahu, Ittefaq Town, Multan Road and Mansoora.
The rain turned the weather pleasant after strong winds followed by heavy rain hit the city in the wee hours of Saturday.
According to the weather department, hot and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country in the last 24 hours (Friday) while very hot in plain areas. However, rain-thunderstorms occurred at a few places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.

Saturday's Highest Maximum Temperature (°C): Sibi 47, Dadu 45, Nawabshah 44, Bahawalnagar, Jacobabad and Turbat 43.
The Met office said that a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and moist currents from Arabian Sea are also penetrating in central and upper parts of the country.
