Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said on Sunday it was hoped that Pakistan would be able to strike a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) soon, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking in the National Assembly, he said that members of the National Assembly (MNAs), who in the last few days had left to perform Hajj, would bear their expenditures themselves. “Not a single of them will perform Hajj on state expenses,” he told the House.
The minister claimed that soon the country would be on way to progress.
Speaking on the floor of the House, Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman said priority had been given in the budget to the reconstruction and rehabilitation of flood affected areas.
She, however, regretted that the world had forgotten those affected by floods in Pakistan last year. Sherry praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif who, she added, had fought the case of climate justice at a conference in Paris.
Later, the House was adjourned to meet on the 17th of the next month at 5 p.m.
