15-member Pakistan team announced for ICC Women’s Cricket WC qualifier

A 15-member Pakistan’s women’s cricket team was announced on Wednesday for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup (WC), 2025 qualifiers to be played between April 9 and April 19 at Qaddafi Stadium and LCCA ground in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The squad was selected after the selection committee evaluated players’ fitness and form in the ongoing second phase of preparation camp, where the players took part in warm-up matches and practice sessions.
Fatima Sana will captain the side, while opener Shawal Zulfiqar has made a comeback to international cricket after 16 months.
She did not play any match since 2023 due to a shoulder injury.
Bowling all-rounder Nida Dar is a major name missing in the squad.
Pakistan’s squad is: Fatima Sana (c), Najiha Alvi, Gull Feroza, Sidra Amin, Omaima Sohail, Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Sadia Iqbal, Nashra Sundhu, Muneeba Ali, Rameen Shamim, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Syeda Aroob Shah, Natalia Parvaiz and Sidra Nawaz
While Ghulam Fatima, Waheeda Akhtar and Umm-e-Hani will be reserve players.
As many as six teams will participate in the event namely hosts Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh, Scotland, Ireland and Thailand.
