CII fails to develop consensus on permissibility of Human Milk Bank

The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), at its meeting held on Wednesday, failed to give its opinion on the permissibility of Human Milk Bank from the Islamic point of view, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources told 24NewsHD TV channel that the meeting had to be adjourned after it was observed that the debate had got lengthy.
Doctors, on the occasion, briefed the participants about the milk bank in detail and answered the questions put by them.
Now, sources informed, the matter would be settled at the CII’s next meeting.
Elaborating further, sources informed that examples were given at the meeting of Malaysia and Iran where such banks had been set up.
Allama Syed Iftikhar Naqvi, representative of the Shiite sect, said the bank could be set up in an Islamic state provided certain conditions were met.
However, religious scholars from other sects sought time from the council so that they could give their opinion following which the meeting was deferred.
