Railway slashes freight charges

Pakistan Railways has reduced fares for its freight services relating to dry ports goods, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the new rates released on Saturday the fare for one container has been slashed from Rs170,000 to Rs1670,000. Bigger container’s rate also came down to Rs170,000 from Rs185,000.
The move is aimed at spurring the cargo business of Pakistan Railways.
Delivery charges for Port Qasim and other charges on containers will remain the same.
Shunting charges on four wheels and 12 wheels will be paid PR separately. Four wheel shunting charges will be Rs2,045, said the PR officials.
