The federal cabinet issued Wednesday a notification for replacing the director general of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the notification, the federal cabinet approved the appointment of Mohsin Butt as the FIA director general.
Mohsin Butt is a grade-22 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP).
Moreover, the federal cabinet also approved the appointment of Muhammad Tahir Rai as the National Coordinator of National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).
Tahir Rai was serving as the FIA director general.
Furthermore, the agenda for the appointment of the governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) was delayed.
The prime minister had constituted a six-member committee for the appointment of the SBP governor.
Cabinet okays withdrawal of reference against Justice Qazi Faez Isa
Participants of the meeting concurred that the government would complete its remaining term.
The federal cabinet approved the withdrawal of the reference filed against Supreme Court (SC) judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa; for which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will write a letter to President Arif Alvi.
It was also agreed that a discussion would be organised in the parliament on the powers of courts.
The cabinet also approved the government-to-government (G-to-G) Bill for the sale of national assets.
