Doctor, nurse held for involvement in human trafficking at Torkham border

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a doctor and a male nurse from Landi Kotal for being involved in human smuggling at the Torkham border crossing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to the FIA officials, both the doctor and nurse worked at Pak-Afghan Friendship Hospital in Torkham, Khyber district.
The accused had prepared fake medical documents for four Afghan nationals in return for a huge bribe.
The FIA officials recovered fake medical documents from the accused.
The Afghan nationals were sent back to Afghanistan after they recorded their confession.
It is to be noted here that Afghan nationals are allowed to enter Pakistan without travel documents for medical treatment.
“We will ensure the prevention of human trafficking amid the current wave of terrorism in the province,” the FIA authorities vowed.
