The Lahore High Court Monday officially declared a two-month summer vacation, commencing on July 3 and released a judges’ roster outlining the hearings scheduled for the first week of the vacation period.
At the principal seat, a total of 13 judges will preside over cases beginning on July 3. These proceedings will be conducted by six division benches and thirteen single benches. Notably, judges assigned to division benches will also handle cases independently as single benches.
Division Bench No. One, headed by Chief Justice and Justice Sultan Tanveer, will be responsible for hearing all types of cases. Similarly, Division Bench No. Two, consisting of Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan and Justice Miss Alia Neelam, will oversee the proceedings for various case categories. Division Bench No. Three, led by Chief Justice Ali Baqir Najafi and Justice Anwar Hussain, will also handle all types of cases.
For Division Bench No. Four, Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal and Justice Risal Hasan Syed have been designated. Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry and Justice Ali Zia Bajwa will comprise Division Bench No. Five. Lastly, Division Bench No. Six will consist of Justice Muhammad Waheed Khan and Justice Muhammad Amjad Rafiq.
During the summer vacation, the court will limit hearings to bail applications, injunctions, and other crucial cases. This move aims to maintain essential legal processes while allowing judges and court personnel to take necessary breaks during the scorching summer season.
As the Lahore High Court commences its summer vacation, litigants and legal practitioners are advised to plan their engagements accordingly, considering the limited scope of cases that will be entertained during this period.
