Dacoits loot 130 Eid suits from tailor shops in Karachi and Nawabshah

Dacoits have robbed two tailors of more than 130 shalwar-kameez suits stitched for customers ahead of Eidul Fitre in Karachi and Nawabshah, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

In the first incident, tailor Bahadur Ali in Maliir area of Karachi reported that as many as 80 stitched suits worth over half a million rupees were stolen from his shop. He said robbers snatched the clothes from him at gunpoint.

On his complaint, Shah Latif Police Station registered a case against armed robbers. In the FIR, Bahadur Ali said he along with his staffers was working in the shop when two armed men came on a motorcycle and pointed guns at them and took away 80 stitched suits, after stuffing them in a sack, and fled.

Police have launched an investigation into the theft and were trying to obtain CCTV footage from near the tailor shop.

Despite the massive loss, Bahadur Ali remained hopeful for support from the community and the authorities.

In the second incident reported hundreds of miles away in Nawabshah, thieves stole 50 stitched suits from a tailor’s shop after breaking the locks in Tehsel Sakrand.

The thieves also took away battery and other expensive equipment from the shop.

Tailor Latif Lakho said they had readies 50 suits for their customers ahead of the Eid which the thieves have stolen.

After registering a preliminary report, the police have launched a hunt to catch the thieves.
