Section 144 imposed in Peshawar and Malakand

The deputy commissioner of Peshawar on Thursday imposed section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), slamming a complete ban on political, social and religious gatherings in parts of the area.

The notification issued by the media cell of the deputy commissioner’s office says there will be complete ban on aerial firing, wheelies and use of heavy silencers on motorbikes. A ban has also been imposed on swimming in rivers and dams without life gear.

A ban has been imposed on boarding more number of people than the capacity of boat or swing. Action will be taken against the violators under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Also, Section 144 was imposed in Malakand.
