Cases registered against PTI leaders for holding workers convention in Karak

Karak police have registered cases in various police stations against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leaders and activists for holding party’s workers convention in the city, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The cases were registered against former MNA Shahid Khattak, PTI district president Inayatullah Khattak and the chairmen of three tehsils under the provisions of terrorism, treason and other serious offences.
Besides them, another 600 PTI workers have also been booked in these cases.
Police are conducting raids to arrest the PTI workers.
According to party sources, 25-35 PTI workers have been arrested.
The entire PTI leadership has gone underground to avoid arrest.
The PTI leaders on Sunday held a workers convention in Karak despite the fact that the local administration did not permit them to hold the political event.
PTI central senior vice president Sher Afzal Marwat was scheduled to arrive in Karak to attend the convention but he did not reach there.
Marwat addressed the workers virtually, while other speakers included regional president and former MNA Shahid Khattak, district president Inayatullah, Muhammad Khurshid, Azmat Ali and Sanaullah.
40 arrested in Swat
The police in Swat arrested 40 PTI workers for holding a party convention in violation of Section 144.
