US envoy Donald Blome calls on Punjab governor

Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman Tuesday met with American Ambassador Donald Blome and US Consul General William K. Makaneole, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Governor Punjab and the US officials talked about the flood situation and the promotion and propagation of bilateral trade between both countries.
Talking about the flood situation, Baligh-ur-Rehman said that Pakistan is currently going through a devastating time due to floods.
As there has been a massive disaster in Pakistan, the whole world should stand and reach out for helping for the sake of humanity. Punjab Governor thanked the United States for the aid of US$66 million for the flood victims.
The Punjab Governor also spoke to the American Ambassador about the increase in scholarships including Fulbright and others for Pakistani students. Because of these scholarships, many are able to get quality education in the United States.
Punjab Governor suggested that the Pakistani industries should be given preferential facilities on the Generalized Scheme of Preferences plus (GSP+) scheme by the US.
The governor said that Pakistan values America's cooperation in education, health, trade and other fields and is very thankful for the gestures.
US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome welcomed all the thoughts and suggestions by the Punjab Governor and also briefly visited the Historical Governor House Building in Lahore.
