Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Punjab has thwarted another attempt to smuggle heroin to Canada, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the TV channel, the ANF team raided the office of Worldwide Cargo at Empress Road in Lahore and recovered 195 grams heroin from a suspicious parcel, hidden in lady shoes.

The parcel was booked by Muhammad Aftab son of Zafar Iqbal, a resident of Faisalabad, for one Javed Ahmad in Canada.

It may be mentioned here that this was the third attempt to smuggle narcotics to a foreign country through cargo services in the last few days but the ANF foiled all the bids.

On August 22 last, the ANF had foiled a bid to smuggle a huge quantity of heroin to Britain. An ANF team during an operation at the Cargo Complex of Allama Iqbal International Airport of Lahore seized heroin worth lakhs of rupees hidden in a parcel.

The ANF personnel recovered the drug from the parcel of Skynet Courier which was booked for a London resident namely Mahmood Butt.

A few days before that, the ANF had also foiled a bid to smuggle Rs400 million worth heroin to Britain. The ANF team during an operation at the Cargo Complex of Allama Iqbal International Airport of Lahore seized 32 kilos of heroin hidden in 32 cricket bats. The ANF personnel recovered the drug from the DHL courier service company’s cargo shade. A resident of Lahore’s Township, Asad Ali, booked the shipment for Najeeb Ahmad who lives in Britain’s Donca Centre.
