The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has decided to recruit masters degree-holders as College Teacher Interns (CTIs) instead of hiring regular lecturers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

A summary has been sent for approval, and the education department planned to hire CTIs for eight months.

These interns will be offered a monthly salary of Rs50,000, and the hiring process is expected to start next month.

Unfortunately, the department will not be recruiting regular lecturers through the Public Service Commission, leaving many unemployed masters degree-holders in a difficult position.
