Police gang involved in robberies busted in Rawalpindi

An alleged police gang consisting of four police constables involved in robbing citizens was busted in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During investigation, the accused policemen admitted committing numerous robberies.
According to police, an accused cop with his accomplice was busy robbing citizens in Khayaban area and during the robbery, they scuffled and wireless set fell off policeman.
After the citizen's call on helpline 15, police busted two suspects while their two accomplices managed to escape from crime scene.
A wireless set was also recovered from the possession of accused.
In his initial statement, accused Kamran told the police that constable Waseem of police station Waris Khan, constable Rameez of police station Chakri and a constable Akhtar Syal were also involved with him in robberies.
“We used to extort money from people by showing police uniform and wireless”, he confessed.
