Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is likely to miss the ODI series against Pakistan after injuring himself while practising, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Sources privy to the report reveal that Mitchell Marsh arrived at the National Hospital, Lahore where the doctors carried out a complete check-up of him.

They advised Mitchell Marsh complete rest, and, he will reportedly be in the care of the doctors for the next few days.

The Australian all-rounder left for the Pearl Continental Hotel, Lahore after a complete check-up at National Hospital.

It is worth mentioning here that Marsh’s absence will further deplete the Aussies’ bowling attack as they are already without Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins. They have also lost Kane Richardson to a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Australian skipper Aaron Finch Monday commented on the possible absence of Marsh from the ODI series and said: “He has injured his hip flexor, we think, at training. We are going to have to wait and see what that looks like, but I don’t think he will be available for the series based on how he was feeling yesterday.”

He added: “He [Marsh] sustained that [injury] in a fielding drill. It was a high intensity, lateral movement drill and he bent down to pick it up one handed and went to throw and felt a twinge.”
