CM Maryam seeks plan to eradicate AIDS in Taunsa

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Friday directed relevant officials to submit a comprehensive operational plan regarding complete eradication of AIDS from Taunsa, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
She issued these directives while presiding over a special meeting in Lahore on Friday to review causes which led to spread of AIDS in Taunsa.
On the directives from Chief Minister a Joint Mission was established comprising UNICEF, WHO and Punjab Health Department to eradicate AIDS in the area.
The Joint Mission will trace history of children affected with AIDS from April 7 to April 14 and will submit its recommendations to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in this regard.
The Chief Minister directed to conduct household screening of affected areas. Maryam Nawaz directed to establish special centers for treatment of AIDS patients in Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) and other areas.
Maryam Nawaz directed to provide free of cost AIDS treatment facilities to patients.
The Chief Minister directed the relevant officials to trace the persons who are responsible for spreading the disease in the area and use all available resources to ensure complete eradication of deadly disease.
Maryam Nawaz said that effective measures must be taken to avoid such kind of diseases in future.
