The federal government has taken a firm stance against terrorism and anti-national narratives, deciding to launch an aggressive response on both traditional and digital media, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Friday.

According to the report, this decision comes in the wake of the Jaffer Express terrorist attack, as the government aims to expose the perpetrators and crack down on hostile campaigns targeting Pakistan’s sovereignty.

The channel reported that an important high-level meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s House a day ago (on Thursday), chaired by the Prime Minister, where key federal and provincial leadership participated.

The meeting was attended by both civil and military officials, along with representatives from all four provinces, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Sources revealed that the government resolved to leave no stone unturned in exposing the attackers of Jaffer Express at the global level.

Furthermore, a comprehensive strategy was formulated to counter anti-Pakistan propaganda on digital and traditional media, ensuring that false narratives do not take root.

In the top brass meeting, the National Action Plan (NAP) was a major point of discussion, with an emphasis on strengthening Pakistan’s national narrative.

The National Narrative Committee was directed to formulate a proactive and effective policy to counter terrorism and extremist ideologies.

Officials were instructed to ensure that no content threatening Pakistan’s stability is allowed to circulate, while patriotic themes will be incorporated into films and dramas to challenge subversive ideologies. All four provinces pledged their full cooperation in executing this initiative.

It is also decided in the meeting that to reinforce the national narrative, digital media will also be utilised to highlight the devastating societal impacts of terrorism.

To convey the national narrative to the youth, such national themes will be adopted in films and dramas that will effectively counter the narrative of miscreants.

The government aims to counter fake news, deepfakes, and misleading information with authentic and verified facts. Social media platforms will be closely monitored to prevent malicious campaigns against the state.

A significant decision was made to include counter-terrorism awareness in the national curriculum, ensuring that young minds are educated about the threats of extremism.

The meeting further stressed the need for enhanced coordination between all provinces to strengthen national security and social harmony.
