Punjab CM commends donor organizations’ support in development projects

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired an important meeting of the Joint Review Committee of Foreign Funded Projects held at Planning and Development Board on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The country director of the World Bank, Mr Najy ben Hassan, the country director of the Asian Development Bank, Mr Yong Ye and other high officials of donor organizations participated in the meeting.
In Punjab, 12 projects at a cost of $2456 million with the support of the World Bank and 8 projects at a cost of $849 million with the support of the Asian Development Bank are in progress.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi assured of all necessary measures for timely completion of foreign funded projects.
He said that government will ensure the achievement of targets in transport, environment and family planning and will welcome the cooperation of World Bank and Asian Development Bank in these fields.
He said that we are striving to achieve better results through strong teamwork and fast response is indispensable for the completion of development projects.
The entire team is working hard day and night and we want to expand our collaboration with the World Bank and Asian Development Bank and other institutions said Mohsen Naqvi.

The meeting was briefed that with the support of World Bank, Agriculture and Rural Transformation Program, Green Development Program, City Program and other projects are ongoing.
Punjab Tourism for Economic Growth will also be completed with the support of the World Bank.
The World Bank and other organizations are supporting the completion of the National Health Program.
In the meeting, ongoing development projects with the support of World Bank and Asian Development Bank were also reviewed.
Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman and Chairman Planning and Development Board Iftikhar Sahoo gave the briefing while federal Secretary Economic Affairs, secretaries of all departments and senior officials were also present on this occasion.
