Opposition Leader in National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan, speaking at a media event at Haripur Press Club Sunday, firmly dismissed any notion that the recent release of Bushra Bibi or the sisters of Imran Khan was part of a political deal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He said Bushra Bibi had endured nine months in prison with resilience, despite facing severe challenges, including being denied basic necessities like electricity, water, and adequate food.
Ayub emphasized that PTI founder Imran Khan has been serving over one and a half years in jail with steadfastness in support of the nation and constitution.
“Imran’s detention is based on false charges,” Ayub asserted, contrasting his situation with that of Nawaz Sharif, claiming Imran’s sacrifices are for the supremacy of law.
Ayub criticized the judiciary, condemning the tenure of the former chief justice as the “darkest period in judicial history,” and expressed hope that the current Chief Justice would render decisions upholding the constitution.
Ayub affirmed PTI’s alliance with Maulana Fazlur Rehman and declared plans for a unified opposition movement against the government.
