This year’s 24-th polio case detected in Hyderabad

Emergency Operations Center (EOCs) issued latest statistics of poliovirus cases in Pakistan detailing this year’s 24th case which was reported from Hyderabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to details, the 24th poliovirus case was reported from Sindh province. The child is 29 months old.
During the current year, five cases of the poliovirus have been detected in Sindh.
Focalperson Ayesha Raza Farooq has said that comprehensive strategy is being adopted to curb spread of polio-virus. She further said that vaccine of polio virus being dispatched to high-risk areas of the province.
She said that Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) in collaboration with Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) introducing ‘Big Catch Up” initiative.
She said that this program will help to provide vaccines to children who are living without administering polio vaccination.
