The Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) has declared the money trail provided by Sarina Isa – the wife of Supreme Court judge Justice Faez Isa – unsatisfactory and prepared the assessment of her sources of income, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday, quoting sources.
According to the sources, the FBR claimed that there were contradictions between her sources of income and assets. Her income was insufficient to buy property in London, it added.
The sources say the FBR is suggesting that Sarina’s total taxable income was Rs9.37 million.
Later, the Bureau sent two notices to her on August 21 under Section 111 and 122 before issuing the assessment order, saying the value of the three London properties was Rs104.3 million.
On the other hand, the wife of the senior Supreme judge noted, the sources say, that the FBR neither included the income obtained from her 2,243 kanals of agriculture land nor the money received through the Clifton properties in Karachi. Even her income through employment wasn’t made part of the London properties, she said in her reply to the FBR.
Sarina said her income tax returns from the past years were not provided to her and she did not trust the FBR team.
