SC forms bench to hear ECP challenge against PHC's suspension of Kohat RO

The Supreme Court will hear a petition filed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against the suspension of Kohat’s Returning Officer (RO) Irfanullah by the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on January 2, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa and comprising Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Musarat Hilali will conduct the hearing.
The ECP has requested the apex court to annul the PHC's decision dated December 27, which left Kohat Circle without an RO and created difficulties for the election process.
The petitioners in the PHC have been made parties in the ECP's petition.
