PM aide Shaza Fatima Khawaja and National Commission for Children's Rights Chairperson Ayesha Raza visited the Lahore General Hospital to see torture victim Rizwana.
They vowed to back the teen victim and her family, saying that they were standing by the girl who was subject to brutal torture allegedly by the wife of a judge in Islamabad.
The MS of General Hospital briefed them about her condition. Shaza Fatima Khawaja told the media that her condition is critical and the doctors have been striving hard to save her.
She added: “This is a condemnable act. This is unbearable. Such girls are like our daughters. Such cruelty is beyond comprehension. This is an inhumane act
Unfortunately, the accused is granted bail. The police should have acted promptly."
She continued: “We reiterated the government’s resolve to stand by the victim and her family. We will bring to book the culprits at all costs.
“We will go for a mass awareness campaign to protect the rights of domestic workers.
“We need joint efforts to put an end to such an incident. We hope justice will be served. We should set an example.”
Reportedly, the wife of Civil Judge Asim Hafeez brutally tortured her 14-year-old maid and made her mother take the girl to her hometown Sargodha from where she was referred to Lahore due to her critical condition.
