PHA to build new Maryam Nawaz Park on River Ravi bank

Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has decided to build a new state-of-the-art park in the city on the banks of the Ravi River in the name of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
In this regard, PHA’s board of directors has approved the construction of Maryam Nawaz Sharif Park.
The board has assigned the task to PHA officials to acquire land from the Auqaf Department and Ruda departments on the banks of the Ravi Belt.
After many years a new park will be built in Lahore while earlier, during the previous government, there was talk of building Shahdara Park, which remained an incomplete project.
PHA will also determine the location on the banks of the Ravi, transfer land departmentally and determine funds.
Funding will be provided by the Punjab government once the estimated cost is determined.
Earlier, major parks in Lahore have also been established through the PML-N government.
Several parks including Greater Iqbal Park, the restoration of Hazuri Bagh, Ali Park, Circular Park were restored during the previous PML-N era.
