Wazirabad woman faces mob justice over ‘theft’

A mob set up its own court to punish a woman who was allegedly caught with some stolen goods in Wazirabad Town of Gujranwala District on Monday.

People started beating up the alleged thief after some stolen goods were found on her. Some people captured this incident of mob justice on their mobile phones. As the mob continued beating up the woman, some onlookers continued making video of the incident. During this entire episode, the accused tried to hide her face as much as she could. After beating her up to their satisfaction, the mob handed her over to the police for further action.

However, it wasn’t immediately clear what action the police took against her and whether an FIR was registered against her or not.
