Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked Balochistan Governor Justice (retired) Amanullah Khan Yasinzai to step down, reported 24News HD TV channel.

The PM wrote a letter to the governor, saying that he intends to appoint a new governor in the view of transforming political challenges.

He said he was unable to see the governor in person due to the prevalent Covid-19 situation in the country.

The letter reads, “It has been a pleasure to have worked with you, striving for the creation of a welfare state and especially looking after the problems of people of the province of Balochistan."

It further reads, “However, given the current political situation, dexterity and deftness are needed at this Juncture for a delicate balancing act to simultaneously ensure political inclusion and fulfilment of our commitment towards the people of Pakistan.”

According to sources, Prime Minister Khan wants to appoint Aga Zahoor as the new Balochistan governor, who has been deprived of the PTI senate ticket after a campaign against him from the party ranks.

On the other hand, PTI’s allied party Balochistan Awami Party has finalized the name of Naseebullah Bazai’s name for the coveted post.
