Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Thursday criticised the federal institutions, stating that they are not functioning effectively and that the federal power system has collapsed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.

He attributed the current economic difficulties to the poor decisions made by the founder of PTI.

Speaking at a solar home system distribution ceremony in Karachi, Bilawal invited investors to support the Sindh government in generating cheap electricity.

He emphasized the PPP's commitment to providing relief to the people burdened by high electricity bills and highlighted the party's efforts to deliver on its manifesto by providing solar panels to deserving families.

Bilawal noted that the PPP is developing a solar park through a public-private partnership, and he welcomed the PML-N's recent decision to reduce electricity prices, though he criticized the manner in which the relief was implemented.

He also mentioned that the PPP plans to extend solar power to the less developed areas of Sindh, providing relief to those using less than 200 units of electricity.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who also spoke at the event, announced that two lakh solar systems are being distributed in Karachi and Larkana to poor families.

Each solar system includes an 80 to 100-watt solar plate, an 18 Ah lithium battery, a fan, three bulbs, and a mobile charger, with a total cost of around PKR 50,000. Deserving families are receiving these systems at an 80% discount, paying only PKR 6,000.
