The District Administration Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) on Friday banned pillion riding to ensure security and prevent untoward situations ahead of the new year celebrations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to the notification issued by Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon, the measure has been taken to prevent " terror attacks by miscreants.  

The administration has already imposed Section 144 in the Federal Capital for a period of two weeks on Dec 24 in the backdrop of a suicide bomb attack. 

According to Deputy Commissioner, Section 144 has been implemented within the limits of Islamabad. People should cooperate with the administration. He further said that strict action will be taken in case of violation.  The ban will be effective from Dec 31 at 6 pm to January 1.
