In a swift action, police on Monday arrested an accused from the Mozang area of Lahore for sexually abusing and blackmailing a young girl.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the arrest was made after the victim's mother contacted the Police Emergency Helpline 15, reporting the crime.
The Virtual Women Police Station promptly dispatched a team to ensure the safety of the victim and apprehended the accused.
In a related case, Lahore Police’s Organised Crime Unit had previously uncovered a horrifying child abuse ring in June 2024.
During a raid at an inn near Data Darbar, police rescued eight children and arrested four individuals involved in heinous acts of child abuse.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Organised Crime Unit Imran Kishwar revealed that the accused, with assistance from inn staff, exploited runaway children seeking refuge near the shrine.
The accused confessed to preying on dozens of children and offering them to guests for a small fee.
