Five more cities linked with Punjab Safe City Authority on CM Naqvi's order

Punjab took another step in advanced technology as CCTV cameras of five cities have been linked with Punjab Safe Cities on the instructions of Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Monitoring of five major cities of the province including Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Kasur and Nankana can also be done from Lahore.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Safe Cities Authority Headquarters Qurban Lines on Tuesday and checked the monitoring system of cameras installed in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Gujranwala from Safe Cities video wall.
The Chief Minister experimentally observed the live monitoring of more than 200 cameras of the three districts.
The Chief Minister inspected the modern monitoring system through cameras installed in Children Hospital Lahore, Kasur and Nankana Sahib on Safe City Wall.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the centralized wireless mobile system introduced by Safe City.
With the modern system, live location of all police officers and personnel can be seen across Punjab.
Police officers across Punjab will be able to conduct video surveillance and video conferencing through the app.
On the occasion Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the initiative of modernizing the system of Safe Cities Authority.
Inspector General (IG) Punjab and Managing Director (MD) Safe City gave a briefing on the progress of ongoing projects on this occasion.
A briefing was given about the Crime Stoppers Service, introduced to provide confidential information regarding crimes.
It was briefed that according to the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, the scope of Safe City Authority is being extended to 21 districts of Punjab.
Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Gujranwala Safe City projects will be inaugurated in a few days.
Under the project, 1886 cameras are being installed in Rawalpindi, 1685 in Gujranwala and 1430 in Faisalabad.
Safe City cameras are using artificial intelligence to detect motorcyclists traveling without helmets.
Inspector General Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamiana, MD Safe City Muhammad Ahsan Yunus and related officers were present on the occasion.
