SHO among 5 martyred as security forces repulse terror attack on Machh city

Five people including a polcie officer were martyred in an attack by militants belonging to banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in Machh city of Balochistan, which the authorities said was foiled by the security forces, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Sources in the administration told 24News TV channel that the forces had a prior information about the attack, and their swift response resulted in the retreat of the militants.
They informed that the forces had launched hunt for the fleeing terrorists.
Sources said that firing continued in the city throughout the night, and stopped at 7:00 in the morning.
Five poeple including Machh city SHO were martyred and seven others including policemen and a child were injured in the terrorist atack.
Caretaker Balochistan Information Minister Jan Muhammad Achakzai, on the other hand, said that the attack had been foiled.
As many as 15 rockets were fired by unidentified persons in rapid succession on Machh town of Kachhi district in Balochistan province on Monday.
According to police sources, at least fifteen rockets fired by militants exploded in different parts of the town.
"The relentless rocket barrage shattered the glass windows of homes across various neighbourhoods in Machh," the sources added.
Luckily, there were no reports of casualties or significant injuries due to the rocket attacks, stated the police.
The situation was exacerbated as gunfire echoed across different parts of the city for an hour, creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty among residents.
Police sources confirmed that the rockets were launched from an unidentified direction.
As a result of the rocket attacks, Machh town plunged into darkness.
The residents are now living in fear, with concerns escalating over the safety and security of their community.
An emergency has been imposed in Civil Hospital Machh, all staff are directed to reach the hospital.
After the explosions in the city, continuous firing is going on from all four sides.
