Dacoit shot dead, two escape in fierce Malikwal police encounter

One dacoit was shot dead, while two others managed to escape during an armed encounter with police in Gojra Police Station’s jurisdiction on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to police sources, the suspects, riding motorcycles, opened fire on law enforcement personnel at a checkpost on Mehal Road near Rukan.

During the intense exchange of gunfire, one dacoit was killed—reportedly by the bullets of his own accomplices—while two others fled.

Following the incident, police swiftly secured the area, transferring the dead body to a local hospital for autopsy.

A massive search operation has been launched to track down the fleeing suspects, while further investigation into the case is underway.
