The deadline for the voluntary departure of illegal foreign residents in Pakistan ends today, with full-scale deportation efforts set to begin tomorrow, reported 24News HD TV channel on Sunday.
According to sources, authorities have completed all necessary preparations to ensure a smooth and organized repatriation process of the refugees.
A temporary transit camp has been established at Landi Kotal Gulab Ground, capable of accommodating 1,500 individuals at a time.
The camp is equipped with separate washroom facilities for men and women, medical services, and free meals for those awaiting deportation.
Following legal formalities, illegal foreigners will be deported via the Torkham border, which is 10 kilometers from the transit camp.
A free transport service will be provided for their journey to the border.
The sources further revealed that security arrangements have been reinforced, with police and Frontier Corps personnel deployed around the 29-kanal transit camp, which is enclosed by iron fencing to ensure safety and order.
In a high-level inspection today, Commander of Bara Rifles, Brigadier Muhammad Shoaib, along with Deputy Commissioner Bilal Shahid Rao, District Police Officer Rai Mazhar Iqbal, and PDMA officials, visited the transit camp to review arrangements.
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Customs, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) personnel have been stationed at the camp to facilitate the documentation and deportation process.
