Bank cashier cleared of embezzlement after 23 years

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday acquitted Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB) cashier Kamran Mirza after 23 years in a case of embezzlement, reported 24NewSHD TV channel.
The bank cashier was charged with embezzling Rs6.3 million in 1999. The trial court sentenced him to seven-year imprisonment in 2011.
The SHC accepted the appeal stating that the FIA had failed to prove allegations against Kamran Mirza.
As per the counsel of the appellant, there were contradiction in the FIA's allegations, adding that the trial court had acquitted the co-accused on the same charges.
