Centre releases revised economic growth figures

The federal government has released revised economic growth figures for the financial year 2023-24.

According to the Federal Planning and Development Ministry, in FY 2023-24, Pakistan's GDP increased from 2.38% to 2.52%.

In 2023-24, the total output of the agricultural sector was 6.36 per cent and during this period, the production of all crops was 10.28% while in 2023-24, the output of the industrial sector stood at -1.15 per cent, it added.

The production of the manufacturing sector remained at 3.13 per cent and the production of major industries stood at 1.08 per cent.

In 2023-24, service sector output was 2.15 per cent, the Ministry of Planning said.

The Ministry of Planning approved the revised GDP figures in the National Accounts Committee meeting.

The revised data recorded an increase in the production of the agriculture sector and the production of the industrial sector decreased.
